How I Roll
I live a block north of Minute Maid Park in Houston. This Saturday afternoon, the parking lot between my building and the baseball diamond lit up. I'm not really sure what to make of it - or even call it.
Mexican Gangster Hip Hop with Hydraulic Cars Rally?
Doubtless, it was actually called something else. Intrigued, I crossed the 300 feet between me and the PayWall, talked myself into an orange freebie bracelet and started snapping. Hey dude, I've snuck into bigger deals than this before. I once got within 10 feet of Mick Jagger with nothing but a suit and a yellow crucifix. (This was a while before I quit drinking.)

It's been a while (ok, perhaps, forever) since I've closely inspected Low Rider cars. The state of the art seems to be enough amplification to resurrect Kurt Cobain and a set (or two) of vertically opening doors. The doors are about 6000Pesos per each to trick out. The amps. You can spend whatever you like on the amps.
"Yo - you know what this means>>?"
actually, every cholo in the house was respectful, cool and in some cases, very cool...
This is not the first time your blog writer has covered these flavors of events. I was a cub reporter covering Quinceañeras in East Texas in 1997. Well, for one night I was. I speak enough spanish to get laughed at but (generally) not beaten up.

You ever wondered how viral marketing worked?
Hint: Music must also be good...
I'm not the first (but probably not the last) guy you wanna call to get information about Mexican Hip Hop. (However, I did have the vacated po box of Rap-A-Lot Records at the Heights post office back in the 90s...). Last I knew, the state of the art was ... Cypress Hill? Clearly, I was out of my depth with Low-G and the other members of the Dope House stable. Paul Wall?
Bueller?
God?
Dope House in the house?

I think I'll go out tonight and if The Dope House crew is still in the house (or, the front yard, as it were) when I return I'm gonna head down there and join them. What, you think I'm gonna ask them to turn it down?
Peace out and the rest.
